In December 2019, the Town of Whitby was host to Rogers Home Town Hockey in partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL). At that time, the Town of Whitby was selected by Rogers Home Town Hockey and the NHL to be a recipient of new hockey and basketball combination nets.
Country Lane Park was selected by staff as the appropriate location to install the new nets. As such, Country Lane Basketball Court will be closed for renovation from March 22, 2021 and is expected to reopen April 30, 2021....

Today, the Durham Region Public Health Unit announced that a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic will begin operating on Monday, March 15, at the McKinney Centre in Whitby.
