We provide curbside residential waste collection services to Whitby residents. This includes garbage, green bin organics, yard waste and large item special collections. The Region of Durham provides blue box recycling collection services. The Region also provides new and replacement green bins and blue boxes.
Please help protect our waste collection staff by securely bagging all your waste (green bin organics and garbage). Please respect physical distancing and do not approach collection staff closer than two metres.

Waste thrown carelessly on the ground impacts our community's health and safety. Litter and illegal dumping is costly to clean up and makes Whitby look dirty and unsightly.
Help by holding onto your waste until you find a garbage bin or until you get home. You can also volunteer with your local environmental group by adopting a road or adopting a park or trail in your area, scheduling clean-up days to keep our community beautiful.
During the winter, please do not place your garbage, green bins, blue bins or special collections on snowbanks, icy patches, or on the roadway, as this could pose safety concerns to collection staff. On collection day, please place your waste on a cleared space at the end of your driveway.
