Neither you nor your spouse qualify as a non-resident elector if you do not personally own or rent the property in the municipality. For example, if the property is owned by your business or your cottage is owned by a trust, you would not qualify as a non-resident elector. |
How Do I Vote? |
How Do I vote? Choose the location and time that is most convenient for you and remember to bring your Voter Notification Card (mailed in early October) and acceptable ID that includes your name and qualifying address. The ballot A paper composite ballot is used which will include all certified, registered candidates for Whitby Town Council, Regional Chair and School Board Trustees. The Offices for Election, and the number to be elected for each office, can be found by clicking the button below. Special Mail-in Ballots The opportunity to apply for a Special Mail-in Ballot closed on October 19, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. Please visit an Advance Vote or Voting Day location to cast your ballot. The deadline for submitting a completed Special Mail-in Ballot kit to the Office of the Town Clerk by mail closed on October 14, 2022. Special Mail-In Ballot kits can be submitted in-person to the Office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, 575 Rossland Road East, Whitby, ON by October 24, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. |
When and Where Do I Vote? |
Election DayElection Day was on October 24, 2022, with polls open between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Election Day Voting Locations (October 24, 2022, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)
Special Voting Locations and Roving PollsPolls are held at long term care homes and other institutions on Election Day, exclusively for the residents of those homes or institutions. Polls are also held at select senior and retirement homes prior to Election Day, exclusively for the residents of those homes. Roving Poll Locations (October 17 and 18, 2022 - see below for specific dates and times)
* Voting location at Providence Place serves residents living at Providence Place and Tekoa Manor ** Voting location at Lynde Creek Manor serves residents living at Cullen Way, Dabbs Way, and Paul Burns Way *** Voting location at Regency Place serves residents living at 15 Regency Crescent and 225 Hickory Street Special Voting Locations (October 24, 2022 - see below for specific times)
Advance VotingAn Advance Vote period will begin on Thursday, October 20, 2022 and run to Sunday, October 23, 2022 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Similar to Election Day, eligible electors can cast a ballot at any advance voting location. Advance Vote Voting Locations (October 20 to 23, 2022, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
