We welcome your active involvement in the community and invite you to attend our statutory public planning meetings in the Town of Whitby. If you wish to appear before Council, you can submit a delegation request.
The next statutory public planning meeting will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, to consider planning applications. Please find details about these applications under "When are our public meetings?" or review the meeting agenda on the Council and Committee Meeting calendar once available.

If you don't make an oral submission at a public meeting or make a written submission to us before a decision is made, you are not entitled to appeal the decision of Whitby Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal. You may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add you as a party. Personal information that you provide in either an oral or written submission on an application is collected under the authority of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990 and the applicable implementing Ontario Regulation. It will become part of the public record for the application. A statutory public planning meeting allows Council to make local planning decisions within the timelines outlined in the Planning Act. Statutory public meetings provide you with an opportunity to give feedback on Council discussions that matter to you. We provide you with information and receive submissions about development applications considered and reviewed by Staff.
Statutory public planning meetings are held approximately once every month always starting at 7:00 p.m. Your public meeting may start later than 7:00 p.m. if there are several public meetings that day. Staff reports with additional details regarding planning applications are generally published one week prior to the meeting date.
