Built in 1861, each wall of the Ashburn Community Centre is constructed in a different style using stones of various sizes. After operating as Ashburn School for 105 years, the building was closed in 1966 and sold to the Township of Whitby for $2. In 1967, the school was transformed into the present-day community centre and a kitchen was installed on its west side. The centre was designated an heritage building in 1983.

From 1876 to 1920, the Brooklin Community Centre served as the Bible Christian Church. In 1920, the church was converted into Township Hall, where it held our municipal offices for 46 years. In 1996, the building was named the Brooklin Community Centre. It holds upper and lower halls for dances or meetings and has two kitchens.

Opening in November 2010, the Brooklin Community Centre and Library is a 3,716 sq. metre, two-storey building that includes a seniors' activity room, youth centre, pre-school program space, gymnasium, craft room, multi-purpose banquet room, meeting rooms and a branch library. The centre offers a variety of recreational and educational programming.

Built in the early 1850s as the Ontario County Courthouse and serving from 1854 to 1964 as a trial court and meeting place for County Council, the Centennial Building is now one of the Town's premier rental facilities. In 1967, the building was turned into a community theatre through a Canadian centennial project. In 2002 it underwent extensive renovations once again to house a banquet facility and local archives. In 1979, the Centennial Building was designated an heritage building. It is used by many community organizations.

Located on the Lake Ontario waterfront next to the Whitby Shores Waterfront Trail, the Heydenshore Pavilion offers a spectacular view of the lake through sliding glass doors and an outdoor patio. The pavilion can host a special occasion of all kinds, from dinners and dances, to showers and weddings. Parking for more than 300 vehicles is located across the street and the structure is wheelchair accessible.
