Corbett Creek Waterfront Trail Project |
Get ready for a better outdoor experience as Whitby revamps the Waterfront Trail at Corbett Creek. With a $2.6 million Federal Active Transportation Fund grant, Whitby is installing a brand-new pedestrian bridge, constructing wider trails, and upgrading a portion of the boardwalk. These upgrades will make the journey through the waterfront even more enjoyable and accessible. The project is expected to be completed this spring. Learn more |

Waste Diversion Event Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025 Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Whitby Public Library, Central Library, Meeting Room 1 (405 Dundas Street West, Whitby) Description: Recycle those "non-recyclable" items by dropping them off at the Central Library (one day only). Accepted items: Brita filters, printer ink cartridges, toothbrushes, disposable razors, used pens, markers and highlighters. Brought to you by the Rotary Club. Participants will have the chance to win a $100 LEAF gift card. Learn more
Reduce, Reuse, Compost! Date: Wednesday, April 23, 2025 Time: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Location: Whitby Public Library, Rossland Branch (701 Rossland Road East, Whitby) Description: Join Durham Region and the Town of Whitby for a fun and informative workshop on waste reduction and composting! LEAF Community Spring Tree & Shrub Planting Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025 Time: 1 to 3 p.m. Location: Rosedale Park (265 Rosedale Dr, Whitby) Description: Help grow the urban forest in Whitby! Plant native trees and shrubs at our family-friendly event at Rosedale Park. The event is held rain or shine, so be sure to wear appropriate clothing.
