2024 projects are in the tendering stage

1. Project Number: T-39A-2023, Traffic Calming

Now through June 30, 2024

Work includes the installation of miscellaneous traffic calming measures such as speed humps, speed cushions, radar message signs, flexible bollards, signage, line painting, and raised concrete sidewalks.

2. Project Number: T-2-2023, Garden Street Stormwater Management Pond, Phase 2

Now through May 24, 2024

Work includes construction of a stormwater management pond, storm sewer construction to flow into Lynde Creek, wetland and landscaping restoration, and planting. 

3. Project Number: T-49-2023, Supply and Installation of Pedestrian Crossovers

May 6 to July 28, 2024

Work includes the installation of pedestrian crossovers at nine locations in Whitby. Pedestrian crossovers will require specific signage, pave markings, flashing beacons, audible pedestrian push buttons, and concrete sidewalk connections. This will make them more accessible. 

It's important to know that not all construction projects happening in Whitby are being run by the Town. Some projects are being run by Bell, Rogers, developers, Durham Region, and more.
