Residents Invited to Participate in Community Gardens Open House on January 30

Residents and local gardeners are invited to attend a Community Open House on how to create and operate a Community Garden on Town-owned or leased/licensed land.

During the session, participants will learn about the environmental and social benefits of community gardening, as well as how to start a community garden or join an existing group of gardeners. A presentation from guest speaker Mary Drummond of Durham Integrated Growers and open discussion period for participants to ask questions will also be part of the session.

Details of the event are as follows:

• What: Community Gardens Open House
• When: Thursday, January 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Where: Regal Room, Centennial Building, 416 Centre St South, Whitby

Community members are required to register for the open house online.
