To help make the pet licensing process easier and more convenient, Whitby pet owners can now purchase tags, order replacement tags, and even report lost pets online using the Town’s new Docupet’s online registration system.

Why do I need to license my pet?

It's the law. All cats and dogs in the Town must obtain an official licence. The licence must be renewed every year.
It identifies lost pets. Pet tags help Whitby Animal Services to identify lost pets and reunite them with their owners. Each pet license has a unique code on the back, which is linked to that pet’s secure online profile. Lose a pet? Navigate to your pet's profile on DocuPet and submit a lost pet report.
It helps animals in need. Being able to return lost pets sooner opens up shelter space for animals in shelters who truly need it.
