Parks, beaches, playgrounds remain open
Whitby, April 20, 2021 – On Friday, April 16, the Ontario government announced additional measures and restrictions to interrupt the transmission of COVID-19 and variants of concerns. This included:
The updated provincial restrictions also impact a number of the Town’s outdoor amenities.
Please note: porta-potties will begin to open in Town parks on May 6; the fieldhouse at Kiwanis Heydenshore Park is expected to open on May 21.
When using these amenities, residents must maintain physical distancing from all those living outside of their same household.

Under shutdown restrictions, residents must limit close contact to those in their immediate household and stay home as much as possible, except for essential purposes. This includes work (where it is not possible to work from home), grocery shopping, medical appointments or getting outside for exercise.
