Do you love to garden? Are you interested in seeing more food production in your local community? We want to hear from you about a new community garden, proposed to be built in King Street Park, located at 390 King Street.

The garden would be planted, maintained and harvested cooperatively, to provide residents access to fresh and healthy food.

Visit Connect Whitby by Monday, May 17 to complete a survey and share your feedback on the proposed plan and community garden design elements.

In addition to a community garden, planned park features include:

• a walkway through the park connecting King Street and Henry Street;
• seating areas with benches;
• signage to recognize the Werden's Plan Heritage Conservation District; and,
• a variety of trees, shrubs and perennials for pollinator species.
