Whitby Fire and Emergency Services proudly hosted Camp Molly Durham, an immersive four-day program designed to inspire and empower youth aged 15 to 18 who identify as female or non-binary.
This transformative camp offered participants a hands-on opportunity to explore careers in fire and emergency services - fields where women and gender-diverse individuals continue to be underrepresented. Under the mentorship of active-duty firefighters, campers suited up and took part in live fire suppression drills, technical rescue exercises, fitness challenges, and medical response simulations.
But Camp Molly was about more than just skill-building. Through teamwork, leadership development, and confidence-building workshops, participants left the experience not only with a deeper understanding of the profession, but with a renewed sense of self-belief and ambition.
