Adult Hockey League

The premier adult hockey league in Durham Region is the Iroquois Park Sports Centre Adult Hockey League (AHL)! We provide adults with the best opportunity to enjoy recreational hockey in a fun, safe and competitive atmosphere. The AHL is open to players 18-years-old and older, and is a non body checking league. We offer winter and summer leagues with multiple divisions to suit a variety of skill levels.

Rules and guidelines

League Overview

  • Mandatory Half Visor
  • Three 10-minute periods of play
  • Non body checking environment
  • Blue line icing
  • Players must be 18 years of age or older
  • Fighting & dangerous play will not be tolerated
  • All teams make the Playoffs

League Information by Season

 General Information

  • The Fall and Winter League runs from September to late March/early April, and includes 28 weeks of play. 
  • We run a Sunday and Thursday night league. Any skip dates due to statutory holidays or major tournaments will be outlined at the beginning of the season.
  • Teams will play all other teams at the beginning of the season before being separated into divisions for the remainder of the games.

 Registration Information

  • Teams must fill out team registration, roster verification and player registration forms at the beginning of the season.  These are available from the league coordinator when a team has joined and paid their deposit
  • Teams require a team name and jersey, and a maximum of 15 players may be added to the roster
  • One or two team representatives may act as liaisons with the league coordinator, and will be responsible for relaying information to team members

 Teams and Individuals

  • Players may join as teams or as individuals.
  • Players who register individually will be added to a team for the season. The registration fee for individual players is non-refundable or prorated once the season has started, however it is not guaranteed you will be placed on a team
  • Teams who require occasional players may contact the league coordinator at 905.444.1817 to be put in touch with interested individual players/goalies.
  • Individual players interested in playing for the full season may be added to a team made up of available players and goalies.  For more information, please contact adulthockeyleague@whitby.ca 

 2025-2026 Information

  • Fees for the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter season will be ($7369.65 + tax) $8327.70 per team for 28 weeks of play
  • A deposit is due at the time of registration for every player, along with the team registration and roster verification forms
  • A payment schedule will be outlined to spread the payments of the remaining fees over the first few months of play.  All fees will be due by December 31st, 2025 at the latest.

  • The Spring/Summer League runs from May until the end of August, and includes 16 weeks of play.
