The premier adult hockey league in Durham Region is the Iroquois Park Sports Centre Adult Hockey League (AHL)! We provide adults with the best opportunity to enjoy recreational hockey in a fun, safe and competitive atmosphere. The AHL is open to players 18-years-old and older, and is a non body checking league. We offer winter and summer leagues with multiple divisions to suit a variety of skill levels.

  • Mandatory Half Visor
  • Three 10-minute periods of play
  • Non body checking environment
  • Blue line icing
  • Players must be 18 years of age or older
  • Fighting & dangerous play will not be tolerated
  • All teams make the Playoffs

League Information by Season

Adult Hockey League

Fall/Winter 2026/27 Season


General Information

The Adult Hockey League Fall/Winter season runs from September through late March/early April and includes 28 weeks of play. Leagues are offered on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Any scheduled skip dates due to statutory holidays or major tournaments are provided at the beginning of the season. At the start of the season, teams will play across the league before being organized into divisions for the remainder of scheduled games.

Sunday League

  • League Type: Adult
  • Game Times: 7:30 PM and 10:45 PM
  • Teams: 12 Teams 
  • Season Dates: September 13 – April 11
  • Game Cancellations: Thanksgiving (October 11), Super Bowl (February 14), Easter Sunday (March 28)
  • Team Fee: $7,590.74 + tax

Tuesday League 

  • League Type: Adult
  • Game Times: 7:45 PM and 10:45 PM
  • Teams: 8 Teams 
  • Season Dates: September 15 – March 23
  • Game Cancellations: None
  • Team Fee: $7,590.74 + tax

Thursday League 

  • League Type: Adult
  • Game Times: 8:00 PM and 11:15 PM
  • Teams: 16 Teams 
  • Season Dates: September 10 – April 8
  • Game Cancellations: Silver Stick (November 26), Christmas Eve (December 24), New Year’s Eve (December 31)
  • Team Fee: $7,590.74 + tax

Registration Information

  • All teams must complete Team Registration, and Player Registration Waiver's prior to the start of the season.
  • Teams must have a team name and matching jerseys.
  • A maximum of 15 players may be listed on a roster.
  • Each team must assign one or two representatives to act as liaisons with the League Coordinator and communicate important updates to players.

Teams and Individual Registration

  • Participants may register as a team or as an individual.
  • Individual players may be placed on a team; however, placement is not guaranteed.
  • Individual registration fees are non-refundable and non-prorated once the season begins.
  • Teams seeking substitute players or goalies may contact the League Coordinator to connect with available individuals.
  • Individual players interested in full-season play may be placed on a team formed from registered individual participants.

Fees and Payment Schedule

  • A deposit is required at the time of registration, along with completed forms.
  • Remaining fees will be distributed through a payment schedule during the first few months of the season.
  • All fees must be paid in full by December 31, 2026.

Whitby Adult Hockey League

 General Information

  • The 2026 Spring/Summer Leagues run from May to August, and include 16 continuous weeks of play. 
  • The Tuesday league will be a women’s adult league that starts May 5 and ends August 18.
  • The Thursday league will be an open adult league that starts May 7 and ends August 20.
  • The team fee for the season is $4725.08, plus HST, for a total of $5339.34. This fee is split evenly between all players and registration and payment is required.

 Registration Information

  • Teams must fill out team registration, roster verification and player registration forms at the beginning of the season.  These are available from the league coordinator when a team has joined the league.
  • Teams require a team name and jersey. 15 players are recommended though teams may have more or less on their roster.
  • One or two team representatives may act as liaisons with the league coordinator, and will be responsible for relaying information to team members.

 Teams and Individuals

  • The league will first attempt to be filled with complete teams.
  • A team of individuals might be added into the league; however, it depends on the amount of teams registered and the amount of individual player requests we receive.

Provides information on Rowan’s Law and Concussion Awareness Resources for amateur athletes, parents, coaches, team trainers and officials.

Provides information about signs and symptoms of a concussion, concussion treatment and prevention.
