Community Gardens
Community gardens are shared green spaces where you can grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. We support community gardens because they encourage positive social interactions, healthy living and respect for our natural environment. To find out more information about community gardens in the Durham Region, please visit Durham Integrated Growers (D.I.G.).
Starting a community garden
We encourage residents and community groups to submit an application to create and sustainably operate community gardens on owned and leased Town lands. Our staff will work closely with any groups interested in starting a garden.
