Facility construction anticipated to begin later this year
The process to design and construct the newWhitby Sports Complexhas reached another important milestone as earlier this week Town Council authorized staff to proceed with obtaining bids from prequalified contractors for the construction of the new facility. Construction of the new sports complex is on track to begin later this year, with an anticipated opening in late-2025.

The Town of Whitby is working to add a temporary cricket ground to Brooklin Memorial Park. It will be located within the in-field of the walking and running track at 67 Winchester Road East.
The cricket ground will include a temporary pitching mat and wickets, line marking and a storage vault. Whitby, March 8, 2022– Last night, Whitby Town Council unanimously approved the final design concept for the newWhitby Sports Complexto be built on the west side of Baldwin Street South. Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in summer 2023, with the complex anticipated to open in fall 2025.
