Key Dates for the 2026 Municipal Election

Date	Details
May 1, 2026	Opening of the nomination period for candidates and the registration period for third party advertisers. Candidate nominations may be filed in person or by an agent with the Office of the Town Clerk beginning on Friday, May 1, 2026 until Thursday, August 20, 2026, during regular business hours (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and on Nomination Day, Friday, August 21, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Third party advertisers may register with the Office of the Town Clerk until Friday, October 23, 2026.
August 21, 2026	Nomination Day. Last day for a candidate to file a nomination in person or by agent with the Office of the Town Clerk, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
October 23, 2026	Last day for a third party advertiser to file a notice of registration in person or by an agent with the Office of the Town Clerk, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
October 22 to 25, 2026	Advance vote period. Electors are able to vote at any Advance Vote Location in the Town between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Monday, October 26, 2026	Election Day. Electors are able to vote at any Voting Location in the Town between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Monday, November 16, 2026	2026-2030 Term of office begins. Inaugural meeting of Town Council scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
