Commissioner of Oaths
The Town of Whitby offers a Commissioner of Oaths service to have your documents commissioned at Town Hall.
Requirements
Please present your entire document before the Commissioner of Oaths. All parties required to sign the document must be present and provide valid photo ID. Your proof of residence is also required.

Fees apply for your first four documents. If you have more than four documents, additional fees will apply for larger quantities. Fees do not apply for proof of life pension statements.
Exclusions
Our Commissioners will not sign:
- Age of Majority/Bring Your Identification (BYID) card application
- Custody documents
- Court exhibits
- Divorce, separation, marriage or cohabitation documents or agreements
- Documents requiring the signature of a notary public
- Documents related to Registrant Identification Numbers through Service Ontario as these documents require the signature of a notary public
- International educational institution or association documents, including photographs
- Letters of invitation
- Ministry of Community and Social Services Family Responsibility Office forms
- Powers of attorney
- Real estate related documents, statements, transfer of land
- Wills, living wills, codicil to a will
