Tax Rebate and Relief Programs

The Town of Whitby offers a variety of tax rebates and relief programs to help you pay your property taxes on time. Learn about each program and see if you qualify:

If you're experiencing low income, you may qualify for one of our tax relief programs:

• Low Income Homeowner with Disabilities 

• Low Income Seniors Tax Rebates

Property Tax Appeal: Sickness or Extreme Poverty

Applications for sickness or extreme poverty are not approved by Council; requests are forwarded to the Assessment Review Board (ARB) for a hearing as delegated by Council.

The ARB reviews your application and supporting documents and arrives at a determination.  The Board will decide if you are entitled to a reduction or cancellation of taxes and the adjustment amount.
