Pace Car Program

The Pace Car Program is a locally delivered, nation-wide program that focuses on raising awareness around travel speed in the Town of Whitby's community. Community members sign the Pace Car Supporters Pledge and work to calm traffic throughout our neighbourhoods – the more people who participate, the better it works! As a member, you'll get a window decal to display in your vehicle proudly.

How to become a Pace Car Driver

If you are interested in becoming a Pace Car Driver in your neighbourhood:

1. Contact Transportation Services to arrange for signing the Pace Car Pledge and to pick up your window decal
2. Place your window decal in your vehicle
3. Drive the posted speed limited and be courteous to all road users

What is the Pace Car Pledge?

If you sign the Pace Car Pledge, you help to make a difference in your neighbourhood and community. You agree to drive with courtesy and respect to other drivers, and to drive the posted speed limit. You also agree to be more aware of, and courteous to, other road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists.
