Town Releases List of Certified Candidates for the 2026 Whitby Municipal Election

47 candidates to run for office this fall

The Whitby municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. A total of 47 candidates have been certified and will have their name included on the ballot to run for office this fall. View a complete list of candidates running for office.

Elected by acclamation is Erik Lapointe for the office of Conseiller(ère), Conseil scolaire Viamonde and Marcellin Kwilu Mondo for the office of Conseiller(ère), Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir.

This election, voters will elect nine Council Members to Whitby Town Council: the Mayor elected by all voters in the Town, and a Regional Councillor and a Local Councillor elected by voters from each of the four wards. Find your ward.
