 No road closures are currently expected to impact Doors Open.

Yes, you can drive. We recommend planning your trip in advance using our event map to ensure a smooth arrival.

Parking is available in municipal Downtown lots.

On-street parking is also available. Please make sure to follow all posted signs and local parking by-laws.

Note: We encourage residents to use active transportation whenever possible.

Active transportation includes walking, biking, or other non-motorized methods of travel. Yes, it is highly encouraged for accessing the various Doors Open sites to reduce traffic and support sustainability.

No. Doors Open Whitby is pedestrian-focused in some areas. Event-goers are encouraged to use active transportation and Durham Region Transit to access event sites.

Dress for the weather! Some of our sites include outdoor walking tours, while others take the tours indoors. No matter where you end up, you’ll want to have on comfortable footwear as you explore the sites.
