Are You on the List to Vote in the 2026 Whitby Election?

Eligible voters encouraged to confirm or update their information by August 12.

Whitby residents are encouraged to take a few minutes to make sure they're on the Voters' List before casting a ballot in Whitby's municipal election this October.

Eligible voters have until August 12 to visit the Province’s website at registertovoteon.ca to confirm or update their information. Taking this simple step helps ensure the Voters' List is accurate and makes voting on Election Day quicker and easier.

Through registertovoteon.ca, electors can:

  • confirm their voter information;
  • update their address or personal details; and
  • add an eligible voter to a household.

Residents can access the service using their full name, date of birth, and their property address.

Residents who miss the August 12 deadline who need to update their voter information can do so by contacting the Town directly beginning September 1.

The 2026 Whitby Municipal Election will take place on Monday, October 26, when residents will elect the Mayor, Regional and Local Councillors, and School Board Trustees.

You are eligible to vote if, on Election Day, you are:

  • a Canadian citizen;
  • at least 18 years old;
  • a resident in the Town of Whitby or the owner or tenant of land in the Town, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
  • not be prohibited from voting under any law.
