Business Licences and Permits

If you operate a business in the Town of Whitby, you may need a business licence or permit. The Town licences certain types of businesses to ensure public health, safety and fair business practices.

Business licences

A Business licence may be required to operate your business in the Town, including food premises, auctioneers, exhibitions, salvage yards, secondhand shops, pawnbrokers and adult entertainment owners and operators.

To apply for a business licence, complete the corresponding application and submit it to the By-law Services Division. Application processing may take up to 10 business days.
