Earlier this afternoon, MP Ryan Turnbull gathered with Mayor Elizabeth Roy and Whitby CAO Matt Gaskell, where the Town was awarded $200,000 from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to support the revitalization project around the Rowe House.

The project will feature:

  • New space for outdoor water sports;
  • Recreation and placemaking areas overlooking the harbour;
  • A rest stop for cyclists;
  • Public art, and;
  • A new visitor information hub.

These key upgrades will attract local, out-of-region, year-round visitors, which will support local tourism and contribute to making Whitby an exceptional place to live, work and explore.
