Town Invites Residents to Show Their Spirit Through ‘Whitby Proud & Canada Loud’ Decorating Contest

Top homes to win local prize packs

With Canada Day (July 1) fast approaching, the Town of Whitby is inviting residents to showcase their local and national pride through its ‘Whitby Proud & Canada Loud’ home decorating contest.

Starting today, residents are encouraged to decorate their homes, lawns, and porches in red and white, then snap a photo and submit it to the Town for a chance to win one of three local prize packs.

In the final week of June, a judging panel featuring Mayor Elizabeth Roy and members of Town Council will evaluate submissions based on creativity, originality, and overall Canadian spirit. Winners will be announced via the Town’s Facebook channel (@TownofWhitby) on Thursday, June 26.

How to participate

Here’s how residents can join in the fun:

1. Decorate your windows, lawns, and porches with a Canada Day theme - Free Canadian flag window signs are available for pick-up at Whitby Town Hall in the Mayor’s Office or any Town facility to get you started!
2. Snap a photo of your decorated space.
3. Submit your entry by Friday, June 20 at 11:59 p.m. for the chance to win one of three local prize packs.
