Province Invests Nearly $20 million to Support New Roads and Homes in Whitby
The Ontario Government has announced $19,918,750 in funding to support the expansion of Columbus Road from Country Lane to Ashburn Road in Whitby. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026 and take approximately two years to complete.
The new road will help to ensure that future homes built in the area are connected to reliable road, sidewalk, and bridge infrastructure, supporting economic growth in Whitby and Brooklin.
Investments like this are key to addressing the Town’s housing, infrastructure, and Community Strategic Plan priorities, as well as to closing the funding gap for municipalities. Learn more about Whitby’s local priorities.
