Park Engagement Planning – Rotary Centennial Park and More
The Town of Whitby is moving forward with previously approved upgrades to Rotary Centennial Park (800 Brock Street South) and we’re seeking your input to help finalize the details.
Why This Matters
These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and accessible public spaces. The work has already been approved in earlier budget cycles and is not part of the 2026 budget review.
What’s Planned at Rotary Centennial Park
To enhance safety and accessibility, the Town will consolidate the play areas by removing the separate playground equipment located across the street at the Lynde House Museum property (900 Brock Street South) and restoring that area with fresh sod.
Planned upgrades include:
- A modernized playground and splash pad with integrated shade features
- A new accessible washroom and storage facility
- A fully accessible gazebo to replace the current wooden structure
- Expanded and accessible walkways
- Enhanced gardens with updated landscaping and planting
- Improved irrigation for healthier plant growth and greater water efficiency
We Want Your Feedback
Please complete a short online survey by November 25 to share your thoughts on playground features and overall park design.
Additional Projects Seeking Input
We’re also gathering feedback on:
- A redesigned playground and new sports court at Whitburn Park (120 Whitburn Street)
- The design of the Hydro-Electric Power Commission (HEPC) Trail, connecting Thickson Road to Longwood Park
These projects are part of our efforts to maintain high safety standards and protect the Town’s assets for future generations.
