Notice of Public Meeting on Community Benefits Charges

The Town will hold a public meeting on April 27, 2026, at about 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall (575 Rossland Road East, Whitby) to talk about a proposed Community Benefits Charges by‑law.

Community benefits charges are applied under the Planning Act to certain high-density developments to help fund growth-related capital projects. As required, the Town has prepared a Community Benefits Charges Strategy, which is available for review in the attached document 

The public meeting provides an opportunity for the development community and interested parties to review the proposed Strategy and provide comments. The by-law will be considered by Council at a future meeting following consultation.
