Notice of Intention to Remove a Holding (H) Symbol (2)
A meeting will be held on February 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 575 Rossland Road East, Whitby, to consider removal of a Holding (H) symbol from By-law 2585, as amended, in accordance with the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, to permit the development of two (2) separate stacked townhouse dwellings, three storeys in height, for a total of 26 dwelling units on vacant land between Gilbert Street East and Dunlop Street East, south of Hickory Street South.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Planning Act, this is not a public meeting and rights of appeal are limited to the applicant. Notice has been given in accordance with the Planning Act to those individuals within the land affected by the application and those individuals and agencies who requested through the Town Clerk, further notice of meetings related to the lifting of the Holding (H) symbol. If you wish to receive a copy of the amending by-law or the refusal to the request, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk, Corporation of the Town of Whitby, 575 Rossland Road East, Whitby, Ontario, L1N 2M8.
