Calling All Young Artists: Two Ways to Showcase Your Creativity This Spring

Whitby invites youth to be part of the Fieldgate Sports Complex opening and Art Attack 2026

Young artists across Whitby are invited to showcase their creativity this spring through two exciting opportunities that will bring youth art into community spaces – including the future Fieldgate Sports Complex.

Play in Progress: Fieldgate Sports Complex Showcase

Children and youth ages 6 to 18 are invited to submit original artwork inspired by the theme Play in Progress for display as part of the opening celebrations of the new Fieldgate Sports Complex later this year.

Artwork can explore themes such as sport, imagination, movement, teamwork, growth, and community – or any creative interpretation of play.

Submissions will be featured on digital screens throughout the facility during the opening event. A panel will also select three standout pieces from various age categories for permanent display within the complex.

Art Attack Returns

Whitby’s popular Art Attack event featuring chosen works returns to the Station Gallery on May 7. In addition to the event, all pieces will be exhibited at the gallery from May 2 to 31. Whitby youth ages 12 to 18 are invited to share their work across a range of artistic mediums in this annual showcase celebrating young local talent.

Get Involved

Young artists are encouraged to take part in one or both opportunities by submitting an application by Friday, April 17.
