Get Involved

There are plenty of ways to get involved with 55+ Recreation. You can volunteer, sponsor an event/program or be a not-for-profit partner. It's all about giving, sharing information and becoming involved in the community.

Currently, we are recruiting kitchen helpers. See below for more information and to apply.

The Whitby 55+ Recreation Advisory Committee supports all social and recreational programs, and advises the Town of Whitby on matters relating to the Town's 55+ recreation services.

The Committee encourages all adults 55-years-old and up to participate in activities that lead to a healthy and active lifestyle, provides space for friendly interaction among members, and promotes involvement and goodwill among individuals with 55+ recreation services memberships.

The Committee meets on the second Friday of each month at the 55+ Centre. Currently there are no openings on this committee.

Information on next year's nomination period will be available in January 2026.
