Free Family Day Fun - February 16, 2026

On the third Monday in February, Ontario celebrates Family Day, a day to spend more time with those you love. Families can get out and get active during the Family Day event on February 16, 2026. Join us for skating, swimming, family friendly activities, and more!

Iroquois Park Sports Centre - 500 Victoria St. W. 

Event times - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Face painting from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Balloon artist from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Photo ops from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Stilt walkers, circus skills, and magician from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Feed the Need Durham will be accepting food and monetary donations

Brooklin Community Centre - 8 Vipond Road

Drop-in Programs

  • Family Fun up to ages 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Family Basketball up to ages 10 from 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Preschool fun from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Learn about preschool programs, play some games, colour or do a craft.

Family Skate: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Parent & Tot Skate: 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Skating for 1 adult, maximum 2 children, 7 years

Family Stick and Puck: 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Adult supervision is required. Only for children 7 years and under only. Full protective hockey equipment is required.

Luther Vipond Memorial Arena - 67 Winchester Rd. E.

Family Skate  

10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

McKinney Centre - 222 McKinney Dr.

Family Skate  

12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Please note that we do not offer skate rentals at any of our arena locations. We strongly recommend the use of CSA-approved head protection for all ice activities.

Whitby Civic Recreation Centre - 555 Rossland Rd. E.

Civic Recreation Centre Pool: 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
