Regional Councillor Rhonda Mulcahy is one of four Regional Councillors who serve the Town of Whitby.

Councillor Mulcahy is serving her first term as a Regional Councillor. She was elected North Ward (1) Councillor in the by-election of 2016.
Councillor Mulcahy attended Meadowcrest Public School in Brooklin and Anderson CVI in Whitby and graduated from Durham College in Graphic Design. She worked in packaging, point of sale marketing and catalogue production in the national commercial and transportation industries before taking a local position in a community newspaper. In 2000, Councillor Mulcahy launched her own community newspaper in the Village of Brooklin.
Councillor Mulcahy and her husband, Tom, have three adult children Sarah, Liam and Keegan (and their rescue dog Dixie, the mountain cur). As a family, they have always been active in various sports, notably, speed skating, mountain biking and downhill skiing.

In the community, Councillor Mulcahy is a Rotarian, an honorary Group 74 member and a Legion member. However, she is often asked to help at various service group events and has been a regular fixture at community events for decades through her work with the paper.
Councillor Mulcahy believes in the Council goals set forth this term and will work together with her colleagues to ensure marks are met. She believes strongly in the need to ensure a strong, healthy, vibrant community for future generations of Whitby families.
