Regional Councillor Elizabeth Roy has served on Council for fifteen years. Elected as Regional Councillor in 2014, Elizabeth was re-elected in 2018. Elizabeth was first elected as West Ward Councillor from 2006 to 2014.
Prior to her election to Town Council, Councillor Roy served as a Durham District School Board Trustee from 1997 to 2006 and as Board Chair from 1999 to 2004. Elizabeth is the mother of three grown children.

Councillor Roy has worked as a professionally trained Medical Radiation Therapist for 31 years. She currently practices at the Durham Regional Cancer Center.
An active community volunteer, she also works with the Durham Humane Society, WindReach Farm, Block Parents, Whitby's Community Art Projects and is a Rotarian.
Her past community involvements include the Boys and Girls Club, Lakeridge Health Whitby Foundation and Kinark.
