The Town of Whitby provides curbside residential waste collection services to Whitby residents. This includes garbage, green bin organics, yard waste, and a special collection program for metals, tires, and other bulky items.
The Region of Durham provides blue box recycling collection service.
Waste Collection Measures for COVID-19
In an effort to help with COVID-19 measures, the Town of Whitby has temporarily relaxed the garbage bag limit from 4 bags to a 6 bag limit.
Please help protect waste collection staff by ensuring all waste (green bin organics and/or residual garbage) is securely bagged. Residents are asked to respect physical distancing and not approach collection staff closer than 2 metres.
It is important that residents continue to do your best to reduce waste and not add to the work load of staff unnecessarily. Please follow all of the other regular guidelines in your waste collection calendar.
