Whether you're looking to rent space for a wedding, anniversary, or corporate event, there are a number of facilities available to make your special event memorable. Most facilities are wheelchair-accessible. Banquet facilities are available 7 days a week, and you can make an appointment to see any of them during weekdays or weekends.
As of November 21, 2016, individuals and/or groups renting Town facilities and wishing to offer food and beverages will no longer be required to choose a caterer from the qualified caterers list. Permit Holders will be able to host their events providing food and beverages from a provider of their choice.
Permit Holders will be required to provide proof of $2 million general liability insurance (or $5 million for an alcohol-related events) naming the Town of Whitby as an additional insured and signing the Town's hold harmless form. For groups that do not have their own insurance, the Town's Facility User Liability Insurance Program will be added to the facility permit and included in the rental payment.
The requirements of a Special Occasion Permit, issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, will remain the same for all rentals where alcohol would be served. Smart Serve Certifications will continue to be required for all bartending staff.
