The Ontario government will update Durham Region's colour-classification and safety measures as necessary based on the set indicators and thresholds outlined in the Keeping Ontario Safe and Open Framework.

All of the Town’s recreation facilities, including Iroquois Park Sports Centre and McKinney Arena, are currently closed to the public. This includes all indoor ice rinks and pools. This means pool permits, ice permits and private meeting room bookings have also been suspended until further notice. Refunds will be issued for any cancelled permits or bookings. All memberships have been or will be placed on hold and pre-authorized payments suspended. For membership questions or cancellations, please contact us at getactive@whitby.ca. Registration for the Town's virtual session of its Winter Recreation Programming is now open on our Get Active page. Whitby Public Library |
As of Monday, March 1 the Central Library will reopen for in-person access to physical collections, staff assistance and computer use (limited to 45 minutes, no extensions). Study space and seating will not be available at this time. Before entering the library, members of the public are required to wear a face mask or covering and complete a health and safety screening. Contactless Pickup continues at all three Whitby Public Library locations while the Central Library prepares for reopening. Masks are required while in line. Exterior Book Drops at all locations are open. Please note: the Book Drop at the Rossland Branch is open during hours of operation only. Digital collections and library programs are also available online. |

The provincial government has advised you to only be in close contact with people living in your own household. You're required to keep a physical distance of two metres' space from everyone else.

Effective July 10, 2020, you must wear a non-medical face mask or face covering within enclosed public spaces and common areas of apartment buildings and condominiums in Whitby. These mandatory instructions are issued by the Durham Region Medical Officer of Health.
