Whitby to Launch New Online Recreation Registration System on August 2

Residents Encouraged to Visit to Activate Their Account

Starting August 2, Whitby residents can go online and experience ACTIVE Net, the Town’s new online recreation registration system that will make program sign-up faster and easier.

ACTIVE Net uses enhanced search capabilities to enable anyone with a smartphone, computer or tablet to quickly and easily find, register and pay for recreation programs. The new system also does away with the current individual PINs and barcodes, and instead offers a personalized login using your email address.

“Our goal is to make getting active in Whitby simple, easy and fun – and ACTIVE Net will help us achieve exactly that,” said Sarah Klein, Manager of Recreation. “From music classes for babies, to karate for kids and cardio salsa lessons for seniors, the Town is proud to offer more than 2,200 programs to residents of all ages and stages of life. By registering for ACTIVE Net, residents will be able to easily navigate the wealth of programs we offer and take part in the ones that interest them most.”

Specifically, ACTIVE Net will provide users the new ability to:

  • Search for programs by keyword, age, location, day and time;
  • Create and manage activity schedules for multiple family members on the dashboard in your personalized account; and,
  • Create and save activity wish lists in advance of a registration date making day-of registration faster and easier.

Residents are encouraged to go online starting August 2 to activate their new account and browse the Town’s new Fall 2017/Winter 2018 Activity Guide in advance of registration which begins on August 9 for non-aquatics programs and August 16 for aquatics programs (for residents).

The Town’s current registration system, SmartLink, will no longer be used as of July 31 at 8:30 a.m. All users have been migrated over to ACTIVE Net and can retrieve their account by entering their email address on the new system’s login page and clicking on the Forgot Your Password button. For more information, visit or call 905.655.2010.

Residents can still register for programs in-person, by drop off, fax or mail at any of the four registration centres located at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library, Iroquois Park and Sports Centre, Whitby Civic Recreation Complex or Whitby Seniors’ Activity Centre.
