Chief's Message:top

Originating in 1851 as a volunteer organization, Whitby Fire and Emergency Services has evolved into a modern department, providing fire and emergency services, as well as public fire and life safety education to the residents and visitors of the town. Operating from five fire stations, with a full time staff of 119 including 104 Firefighters, we respond to over 5000 calls each year. In addition to fighting fires we also respond to water and ice rescues, motor vehicle extrications, medical emergencies, industrial accidents, and much more.

That all members of this Department will serve the residents of The Town of Whitby to the best of their ability. The service provided is dedicated to the preservation of life and property . Through education, training and prevention, all members will strategically plan to enhance our goal, that is to be as effective , efficient and responsive as possible.

All members will continually strive for excellence through dynamic change, honesty and trust, ensuring our service will meet all future challenges.
