
Small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are an essential part of our economy. Today, 99% of Ontario's enterprises fall into that category. They employ close to 2.8 million people, more than half of all workforce across the province and have a major impact on jobs, investment, trade, innovation and prosperity. A business is defined as a SME if it has fewer than 500 employees.
The Town of Whitby recognizes the importance of supporting this group and we have designed a number of specialized programs to address their needs.
