For purposes of representation on Council, the Town of Whitby is divided into four Wards.

Through the municipal election process, Councillors are elected to Whitby Town Council to represent each of the four Wards.

Wards Map

North Ward 1

Commencing at the intersection of the centre lines of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road) and Townline Road West;

Thence easterly along the centre lines of Townline Road West and the Townline Road East to the boundary line between the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa;

Thence southerly along the boundary line between the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa to the centre line of Regional Road No. 4 (Taunton Road East);

Thence westerly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 4 (Taunton Road East and Taunton Road West) to the centre line of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road); and,

Thence northerly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road) to the point of commencement.

West Ward 2

Commencing at the intersection of the centre lines of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road) and Regional Road No. 4 (Taunton Road West); 

Thence easterly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 4 (Taunton Road west and Taunton Road East) to the centre line of Garden Street;

Thence southerly along the centre line of Garden Street to the centre line of Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road East);

Thence westerly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road East and Rossland Road West) to the centre line of Regional Road No. 43 (Cochrane Street);

Thence southerly along the centre lines of Regional Road No. 43 (Cochrane Street), Annes Street extended southerly to Gordon Street, and Gordon Street extended southerly to the shoreline of Lake Ontario;

Thence westerly along the shore line of Lake Ontario to the centre line of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road); and,

Thence northerly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 23 (Lake Ridge Road) to the point of commencement.

Centre Ward 3

Commencing at the intersection of the centre lines of Regional Road No. 43 (Cochrane Street) and Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road West);

Thence easterly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road West and Rossland Road East) to the centre line of Anderson Street;

Thence southerly along the centre lines of Anderson Street and Hopkins Street extended southerly to the shore line of Lake Ontario;

Thence westerly along the shore line of Lake Ontario to the centre line of Gordon Street extended southerly to the shore line of Lake Ontario; and,

Thence northerly along the centre lines of Gordon Street extended southerly to the shore line of Lake Ontario, Annes Street extended southerly to Gordon Street and Regional Road No. 43 (Cochrane Street) to the point of commencement.

East Ward 4

Commencing at the intersection of the centre lines of Garden Street and Regional Road No.4 (Taunton Road East);

Thence easterly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 4 (Taunton Road East) to the boundary line between the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa;

Thence southerly along the boundary line between the Town of Whitby and the City of Oshawa to the shore line of Lake Ontario;

Thence westerly along the shore line of Lake Ontario to the centre line of Hopkins Street extended southerly to the shore line of Lake Ontario;

Thence northerly along the centre lines of Hopkins Street extended to the shore line of Lake Ontario and Anderson Street to the centre line of Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road East);

Thence westerly along the centre line of Regional Road No. 28 (Rossland Road East) to the centre line of Garden Street; and,

Thence northerly along the centre line of Garden Street to the point of commencement.
