I am delighted as Mayor and on behalf of the Members of Council to welcome you to the Town of Whitby, a great place to live, work and play right in the heart of Durham Region.

Whitby embraces the future while respecting our proud heritage.  The Town provides support for community festivals throughout the year such as the Brooklin Spring Fair, County Town Carnival, Heritage Day, Habour Days and more! Please visit our Events page to see upcoming Town celebrations.

Whitby's residents, numbering over 132,000, enjoy the attractions of two historic downtowns, an unrivalled natural waterfront, abundant parks and greenspaces and a variety of recreational choices.  On our Parks and Recreation page are listings of Whitby's excellent facilities, trails and programs.

As a Community of Choice for business, we have a very diverse economy, a well educated and skilled workforce as a result of outstanding post secondary institutions in and around our community, and a competitive cost environment. Our ChooseWhitby.ca website has information on how the Town supports our business community.

Whitby is a friendly and generous community with an outstanding spirit of volunteerism. We thank our many service clubs and community organizations for all they do to enrich our town.  Council and staff are also here to help.  As you explore this website you will see information on the many areas where we can provide assistance.

Whitby Town Council is committed to our 2014-2018 Council Goals.  These are a shared statement of what we plan to do together to build a better town and shape a brighter future for our community.  To get there, we need to hear from you. Contact information for myself and the Members of Council is available on our website. We value your help, advice and information.  Our doors are always open and please feel free to email me anytime at mayor@whitby.ca.
