Registration FAQs



How do I register for a recreation program?

You can register online or mail, fax or drop off a Program Registration Form at one of our registration centres. Visit Register for a Program for complete details and locations of the registration centres.

What pools are available to rent?

The Whitby Civic Recreation Complex pool can be rented for birthday parties and family functions, and is available Saturdays and Sundays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Anne Ottenbrite Pool at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre is available to rent from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.

What is the refund policy if a class is cancelled or if I withdraw from a program?

If we cancel your program, you receive a full refund.

If you withdraw from a program prior to the start date, a refund will be issued and is subject to an administration fee.

If you withdraw after a program has started, you can request that a pro-rated credit remain on your account or that a pro-rated refund be issued, which is subject to an administration fee.

Where can I get a copy of the Activity Guide?

You can view the Activity Guide online. Copies are available at all municipal recreation facilities and branches of the Whitby Public Library.

Are the recreation centres closed over the holidays?

The Town of Whitby issues program notices and holiday closure information under Public Notices. Recreation program notices for holiday closures and to accommodate tournaments are located on page 2 of the Activity Guide.

What birthday party packages are available?

Birthday parties can be booked at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library for children who are 2 to 14 years of age. Visit Birthday Parties for detailed information.

How can I purchase a Health Club Membership?

Health Club memberships are available at the Whitby Civic Recreation Complex for youth, adults, and seniors. Visit Health Club for more information.  

Are there subsidized programs available?

A number of assistance programs are available to Whitby residents wishing to participate in recreation programs or use Town recreation facilities. Assistance programs include the Access Program, Canadian Tire Jump Start Program, and Durham Region Social Services Certificate. Visit Subsidized Programs for additional information.
