Garbage is collected bi-weekly (every other week) on your regular collection day.
- There is a four-bag limit per household. Each bag over the limit must be tagged with a Whitby-issued bag tag.
- All garbage must be in bags. Garbage containers are not allowed in Whitby's program due to the design of two-stream collection trucks.
- Maximum size of bags: 66 cm wide by 91 cm tall (26 inches by 36 inches) at the time of purchase. Oversized bags will not be collected.
- Maximum weight per bag: 20 kilograms (44 pounds). Bags that break open when lifted will not be collected.
For information on what you can and cannot include in the garbage bags, please review the Residual Waste Information.
