Current Official Plan

An Official Plan is a statutory document that sets out the policy directions for planning and land use matters regarding long-term growth and development in a municipality.

The Official Plan is the lead planning document at the municipal level and is used to guide decision making on matters such as land use and development, as well as the delivery of infrastructure, services, and facilities.

The current Whitby Official Plan was adopted by Whitby Council in 1994 and approved by the Region of Durham in 1995.

Please note that the Whitby Official Plan has recently been updated by Official Plan Amendment #105. For more information, please view the Whitby Official Plan Review webpage
