Are you planning to build a deck or fence on your property? Before you start your project, make sure you understand and comply with the Town's requirements for erecting and maintaining decks or fences. The by-laws are listed below.

Decks in the rear yard, attached or not attached to the house and less than 2 feet in height do not require a permit. All decks that are more than 2 feet above average grade require a building permit.
Swimming Pool Enclosures
The Town requires that all outdoor swimming pools be properly enclosed by a fence, wall, or other structure. All outdoor swimming pool enclosures require a building permit. The fee for a swimming pool enclosure permit is $200.00.
