Sports and Recreation

Visitors and residents can enjoy state-of-the art recreation complexes, and outdoor enthusiasts will find thousands of acres of parkland, two provincially significant conservation areas, and multi-purpose trails in Whitby.

You can visit Parks, Trails and Outdoor Facilities for an overview of the area's beautiful beaches, park and picnic areas, splash pads, sports fields, tennis courts, and more.

Discover Whitby's award-winning marina or visit the Iroquois Park Sports Centre, Canada's largest municipally owned and operated recreation facility. The Town's banquet facilities, arenas, swimming pools, and community centres are close to challenging ski hills and offer programs for all ages. The Whitby Seniors' Activity Centre has instructional classes and leisure programs, specifically designed for residents 55 years of age and older. Browse Recreation Facilities for more information on facilities operated by the Town.

Recreation programs range from camps, fitness, and health club memberships, to skating and swimming. Read our activity guide or recreation program schedules for more detailed information. You can also register for a program through our online Smartlink system.

Subsidized programs are available. Community Connection is one example of a non-profit organization providing affordable recreation, leisure, and special interest programs at school locations throughout Whitby and Brooklin.
